1、 Laboratory Introduction:
The Laboratory of Molecular Enzymology and Synthetic Biology is supported by the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Metabolism of Shanghai Jiaotong University. Professor Feng Yan (Chief Scientist of the 973 Program, Dean of the School of Life, and Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory) is in charge. Other members of the research team include researcher Yang Guangyu, associate researcher Cui Li, associate researcher Zhang Yong, and associate researcher Liu Qian
The laboratory is committed to analyzing the structure, catalytic mechanism, and evolutionary laws of key metabolic enzymes in microorganisms, developing protein molecular evolution and synthetic biology technologies, and designing and directing molecular evolution of key enzymes for practical application needs, in order to improve the selectivity, catalytic efficiency, and adaptability of enzymes to non natural substrates, and thus construct efficient and specific evolutionary enzymes and artificial synthesis pathways
The laboratory has undertaken research tasks such as the National Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Key Project, the National 973 Program, the 863 Program, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China Major Instrument Special Project. In Science Adv, Nature Commun., Angew. Chem., JACS, JBC, ACS Synth. Biol., Publish multiple papers in renowned journals
