Job Responsibilities
(1) Research strategic planning
According to the overall development strategy of the company, formulate a long-term plan for basic research on cosmetics, ensuring that the research direction focuses on enhancing the company's core competitiveness in the cosmetics market, with particular attention to the research layout of new raw material development and cosmetic efficacy improvement
Continuously evaluate the development trends, market demand, and technological breakthroughs in the cosmetics industry, adjust and optimize basic research strategies, and seize opportunities for the company in the fields of new raw materials and efficacy research
(2) Development of new raw materials
Lead the development project of new raw materials
Responsible for the entire new raw material development process from concept proposal to commercial application, including raw material screening, synthesis/extraction process research, safety assessment, efficacy verification, etc
Establish a technical roadmap for the development of new raw materials, set key milestones and goals, and ensure that the project progresses according to plan and is completed within budget
Raw material innovation and cooperation
Track global trends in new raw material research and development, actively explore opportunities for cooperation with domestic and foreign research institutions and raw material suppliers, carry out joint research and development projects, and acquire cutting-edge raw material technologies and resources
Encourage the team to engage in innovative thinking about raw materials and explore new sources of raw materials with unique properties and potential, such as natural plant extracts, biotechnology derived raw materials, etc
Compliance with new raw material regulations
Thoroughly study the regulations and policies on new cosmetic raw materials at home and abroad, ensure that the developed new raw materials comply with relevant regulatory requirements, and timely prepare and submit the technical documents required for the registration/filing of new raw materials
(3) Research on the efficacy of cosmetics
Establishment of efficacy research system
Establish a comprehensive research system for the efficacy of cosmetics, covering different levels of testing methods from cell experiments, in vitro simulation experiments to human clinical trials, in order to scientifically and accurately evaluate the efficacy of cosmetics
Determine the key efficacy indicators of different types of cosmetics and establish corresponding standard testing procedures and evaluation models
Efficiency improvement and innovation
The leadership team is conducting research on enhancing the efficacy of cosmetics, exploring new combinations of functional ingredients, formulation optimization strategies, and advanced delivery technologies to enhance product performance
Pay attention to the new demands of consumers for the efficacy of cosmetics (such as anti-aging, sensitive skin repair, sun protection, etc.), and promote the development of new cosmetics with targeted effects
Responsible for collecting and analyzing feedback on the efficacy of products already on the market, providing a basis for product improvement and upgrading
(4) Team Management and Collaboration
Team building and development
Responsible for recruiting, cultivating, and retaining high-quality basic research talents in cosmetics, and forming an interdisciplinary (chemistry, biology, dermatology) professional team
Provide technical guidance, career development planning, and training opportunities for team members to enhance the overall research ability and technical level of the team
Cross departmental collaboration
Work closely with the company's R&D, marketing, regulatory, and production departments to ensure that basic research results can be smoothly transformed into actual products that meet market demand, regulatory requirements, and production feasibility
Participate in cross departmental project teams and provide professional basic research support for new product development, product improvement, market promotion, etc
(5) Research achievement management
Data Analysis and Reporting
Guide the team to conduct in-depth analysis of a large amount of data (including new raw material development and efficacy research data) in the basic research process, and use statistical methods and professional software to explore the scientific significance behind the data
Regularly write and submit high-quality research reports, reporting the progress of new ingredient development, cosmetic efficacy research results, and their impact on the company's business to senior management, R&D team, and other relevant departments
Intellectual Property Protection
Responsible for identifying, declaring, and protecting intellectual property rights (such as patents, technical secrets, etc.) generated during the basic research process, ensuring that the company's technological advantages in the research of new cosmetic ingredients and efficacy are effectively maintained
Job requirements:
1. Educational background: Doctoral degree, with work experience in cosmetics brands, participated in or led the development of well-known cosmetic raw materials or large products, successfully cooperated with external raw material suppliers or research institutions, and developed innovative technologies or raw materials
2. Knowledge and skills: Possess a background in the development of upstream technologies in life sciences and chemistry, familiar with new raw material development paths such as biological fermentation, chemical synthesis, and plant extraction, familiar with cosmetic formula and active ingredient compound design, master raw material encapsulation technology (such as liposome and microcapsule technology) and transdermal technology development, familiar with the development trends of new technologies and raw materials in the cosmetics industry, and able to promote competitive product innovation
3. Team management: With over 3 years of team management experience, able to effectively decompose goals, develop implementation plans, and lead the team to complete tasks
