It strives to overcome world-class scientific problems, accelerate breakthroughs in key core technologies, and make new and greater contributions to promoting high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and winning the initiative in international competition.
The Materials Interface Research Center was established in 2016, characterized by interdisciplinary and industry research integration. Its aim is to solve scientific problems related to the functional sequence of material interfaces, develop pilot engineering technologies for new materials, and expand the application of materials in the fields of sensing and energy. The center gathers more than 120 innovative talents, including 3 academicians and 14 associate degree holders or above. It has trained more than 50 postdoctoral fellows and over 100 graduate students. Graduates are highly favored by prestigious enterprises and schools, with about 80% entering Fortune 500 companies such as Huawei and BYD or pursuing doctoral studies. We have undertaken over 100 scientific research projects, built 2000 square meters of experimental office space and over 10000 square meters of pilot testing sites, established one municipal key laboratory, two municipal engineering centers, one municipal pilot testing base, and more than 10 joint laboratories with enterprises. In the past five years, the center has published over 120 papers and authored 3 monographs in JCR Zone 1 journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Synthesis, and Nature Communications; Having invented over 100 things and incubated 2 specialized and innovative enterprises. The center has established a material CRDO R&D service system, standardizing material R&D work and providing customized overall solutions for enterprises. It has won over 200 million yuan in horizontal funding contracts from enterprises and promoted more than ten new material products to the shelves.
