Job Description:
1、 Center Introduction/Mentor Introduction
The Biomedical Optics and Molecular Imaging Research Center was established in April 2012. It is a research unit under the Biomedical and Health Engineering Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, focusing on biomedical optics. The center is based on international cutting-edge optical and molecular imaging theories, guided by major biomedical scientific issues, and develops optical and molecular imaging technologies with clinical practical value. It also develops a series of cutting-edge optical imaging systems, core components, and molecular probes for life science research, laying the technical foundation for China's strategic plan of "early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment" of diseases, and contributing to China's medical and health care industry.
Dong Peng, doctoral supervisor, chief scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program (2023), and overseas young talent of the National High level Talent Program (2022). The main research direction of the team is to develop ultra-high resolution imaging technology based on single-molecule localization microscopy, focusing on using advanced imaging methods and single-cell omics to study biological issues such as gene regulation, epigenetic regulation, and three-dimensional genome structure. From 2015 to 2022, I conducted postdoctoral research on advanced imaging technologies at the renowned HHMI/Janelia Research Campus in the field of bio optical imaging. In recent years, he has published 7 papers as a communication and first author in journals such as Nature Genetics (2024, 2022), Nature Methods (2020), and Nature Communications. He has also published 14 papers as a collaborator in journals such as Science, Nature Cell Biology, Cell Research, Molecular Cell, JACS, and PNAS. He has been cited over 2400 times in the Google Scholar database.
