Responsibilities:
1 Expertise in protein and antibody engineering in the discovery and preclinical development of biotherapeutic candidates. Assist in evaluating new technologies to stay at the cutting edge of biologics discovery, production, and characterization.
2 Play a key role in assessing protein structure and function as applied toward the evaluation of biologics for protein design and engineering.
3 Work with multidisciplinary teams and program managers to ensure achieving milestones on time.
4 Present your findings and ideas to an interdisciplinary team with a wide range of technical backgrounds, and contribute to publications and patent applications.

Requirements:
1 PhD in Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or related disciplines and 5 years or more of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
2 Experience in all aspects of protein and antibody expression, purification, and characterization to support the preclinical discovery and development efforts of the biotherapeutics group.
3 Experience managing external CROs and vendors for protein engineering work.
Demonstrable experience in antibody discovery, antibody engineering, antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), or the engineering of other proteins.
4. Family with various antibody formats and scaffolds included, but not limited to fusion proteins, bi specific antibodies, single domain antibodies (VHH), and bi-paratopic antibodies.
Experience with some antibody display technologies, such as phage, ribosome or yeast required.
5 Knowledge of computational approaches for protein engineering.
6 Experience in mammalian cell culture and protein expression systems.
7 Self-starter, strong oral and written communication skills working in cross-functional teams.
