Mentor Introduction.
Hu Chengzhi, a researcher at Southern University of Science and Technology (Zhenggao, doctoral supervisor, independent PI), a selected member of the National “Youth Thousand Talents” Program, a B-class talent of the “Peacock Plan” in Shenzhen, deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Human Enhancement and Rehabilitation Robots in Guangdong Province, and director of the Micro Nano Robot Branch of the China Micro Nano Technology Society. I graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2008 and 2010, with bachelor’s and master’s degrees respectively. I pursued my PhD at Nagoya University in Japan from 2010 to 2014, under the guidance of Professor Toshio Fukuda, a renowned scholar in the field of microrobots and automation (a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences). Worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich from 2014 to 2018, with Professor Bradley Nelson, an authoritative expert in the field of medical microrobots, as my co supervisor. I returned to China and joined Southern University of Science and Technology in June 2018. Mainly engaged in new capsule endoscopes and their in vivo control and positioning technology, microscopic automation control, micro nano robots, etc. Has won the Nagoya University Academic Award, the International Conference Best Paper Award three times (MHS 2012, ICRA 2015, IEEE CBS 23), and the “Four Seasons Youth” Forum Theme Report (21).
After returning to China in June 2018, I focused on researching external magnetic field manipulation and magnetic positioning technology, single-cell microscopy automation operation, and micro robot technology. In the past 5 years, I have led 9 national key research and development projects (youth), national natural science general projects, national natural science youth projects, military commission and provincial and municipal competitive scientific research projects, and participated in IEEE Trans- Instrum.Meas.-, IEEE Sensors Journal,IEEE Trans. Biomed. Eng., IEEE Transactions on Medical Robotics and Bionics,Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Sci., Small, Lab Chip Published over 50 papers and applied for more than 10 patents in internationally renowned academic journals in this field. In particular, various new capsule endoscopic robots for digestive tract detection, biopsy, and drug delivery have been developed, and millimeter level precision capsule endoscopic in vivo positioning technology based on single magnetic sensors has been developed, laying a solid foundation for the system integration of intelligent, automated, and multifunctional capsule endoscopic technology.
The project leader has been conducting long-term research on industry university research cooperation, and currently serves as the director of the “South University of Science and Technology Zifu Medical Joint Laboratory” (funded by a company of 5 million yuan). Currently serving as a medical technology development and research consultant (23) at Zhejiang Province Shangyijian Technology Co., Ltd., a senior member of IEEE, a senior member of the Chinese Micron and Nano Society, an editorial board member of Cyborg and Bionic Systems journal, a member of ASME, and a member of the Chinese Society of Automation. The research team currently has one researcher (applicant), one associate researcher, one assistant researcher, one postdoctoral fellow, one research assistant, six doctoral students, and ten master’s students, laying a solid research foundation for the implementation of this project.
